The Chickamauga people speak an ancient Eastern Cherokee dialect called “Giduwa”. While similar to the modern eastern dialect, there are some subtle differences.

Below is the syllabary that all Cherokee dialects use for writing. This was created by a Cherokee man named Sequoyah in 1821.
